Short Guide

  • Register: Use the register link on the login page to create a new user account. There are three steps:
    • First: Agree to the site terms.
    • Then: Set the user name and password.
    • Finally: Pick your user type and complete the registration.

Detailed Guide: Register

The registration is meant to be a very quick process. Just follow the steps listed below.

Step 1: Go to the login page. Just about every page on the site will have a login button. It will either be found at the very top of user pages or beside the navigation buttons on other pages.

Step 2: Once you are on the login page you should see the link to register right under the login controls (see image).

Step 3: Read the Terms and Agreement carefully. If you want you can click the Printable Page link at the top of the terms to get a print-friendly version. If you understand and agree to everything check the "I Accept..." checkbox and click the Next button

Click register link under the login controls.

You have to check before proceeding.

Step 4: Enter the information for the account:

  • User Name: The User Name will be the last section of your unique url with hitemhi.com (Eg. www.hitemhi.com/Bill112). The username needs to be atleast 6 characters, it can be text and numbers but cannot begin with a number. Don't worry if your username is not your name or the name of your band as you will set that later.
  • Alias:
  • The Alias is the name you want to be known by and also the name that other users will search for you as.
  • Password: Passwords are case-sensitive. They must be at least 7 characters in length, begin with a text character and contain at least one number. You do not need to include a special character but atleast one is recommended for a secure password.
  • Security Q&A: Pick a security question and answer that you will remember.
  • User Types: Select a user type. There's no technical difference but it will change the way that you are found on our search engine. You can always change your user type later. Your choices are:
    • Fan: If you created an account because you like music and just want to create your page for playlists, to blog about shows, to buy merchandise (coming soon) or any other process that requires a login.
    • Professional: If you are any sort of professional related to the music industry. This would include cover artists, photographers, road managers and more. One of the goals of HitEmHi is to connect the professionals to the artists that need their services.
    • Promoter: If you promote shows. By creating this account we will be able to auto-generate contact information when we implement the second phase of our show search engine.
    • Solo: If you are a solo musican of any sort.
    • Group: If you are a group of 2 or more musicians. In the next few months we hope to implement the ability for individual solo accounts to be added to a group account. This is so a user can maintain their personal account but also be added to one or more group accounts.
  • Email: Use the email address of the primary user, make sure to keep this address current as it will be the address that confirmations, password resets and other info is sent to.

All of this information is required, record it somewhere just in case.

Step 5: Completing the profile information is especially important if you are planning to use the site to promote yourself effectively. So if your user type is solo, group, professional or promoter make sure to fill out all the necessary information.

Filling out this information is beneficial if you plan to promote yourself.
